Global Transportation Disruption & Risk Intelligence
Giving Markets, Planning and logistics partners the visibility to act under uncertainty.
Coordinated information, priorities, reporting and escalations across Markets, Planning, freight forwarders and carriers.
The context
Disruptions such as the Red Sea crisis, trade tensions, Rhine drought and Pacific typhoon seasons create uncertainty well beyond the transport leg itself. Markets need to understand what is at risk early enough to protect stock, campaigns and customer service.
The approach
I brought together shipment data and partner updates, built reporting and made the evolving situation visible to the people who needed to respond.
Markets identified urgent needs; I aligned those priorities with Planning, carriers and freight forwarders, coordinating preventive or reactive action and escalating where needed.
The response could include alternative transport arrangements or air freight to mitigate a delay. The purpose was to enable an informed choice, not to imply that visibility alone could remove the disruption.
I created Ocean Risk Radar within the Transportation Intelligence Hub to surface upcoming environmental and cultural events across markets and support earlier preparation.
What changed
- Clearer priorities and earlier conversations about shipments at risk, helping stakeholders select mitigation options.
- Better coordination around market stock needs, campaign timing and customer service during disruption.
- A repeatable approach to sharing intelligence and enabling action across multiple crises, rather than a response tied to one event.
My role is to make sure the right people have the information they need, early enough to act.
