Activated Carbon Strategic Tender
Bringing technical requirements and commercial judgement together across twelve US factories.
Managed factory requirements, stakeholder alignment, tender structure, supplier negotiations, savings analysis and the final recommendation.
US factories in scope
The context
Disruption affecting coconut-based raw-material supply created volatility in the activated-carbon market. It was an opportunity to review sourcing for twelve US factories with specialised technical needs.
The approach
I worked directly with production stakeholders to understand each factory’s requirements and translate them into the tender.
I engaged specialised suppliers, negotiated options and aligned the proposed solution with the stakeholders who would use it.
In an unfamiliar technical context, I asked questions openly and used curiosity to build understanding and trust.
What changed
- A structured recommendation grounded in operational requirements, supplier options and supply-risk considerations.
- Stronger alignment between factory requirements and the commercial recommendation in a demanding technical environment.
A sound sourcing recommendation starts with understanding the operation it needs to serve.
